Today I’m pleased to be taking part in the blog tour for Life Ruins. My review is written with thanks to Zoe O’Farrell for inviting me on the tour and to the publisher for my copy of the book.

Review:

I’ve never read anything by Danuta Kot before, but I will certainly do so again. I loved her writing style that took me so easily to the East Yorkshire Coast. The isolated villages and mountains added to the atmosphere. I could see that there were dangerous things around the corner and I wanted to know what they would be.

I found that Life Ruins was a very character driven novel. I really enjoyed getting to know Kay, Becca and Jared and felt sympathy for them all at certain times. I felt that Kot observed them really well which helped the reader relate to their challenging circumstances. 

Towards the end of the kipnovel, the tension increases massively and I was turning pages furiously trying to find out what would happen. I loved the way all the different elements of the story came together.
