Lily Lawson: The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band

Today I’m joining the blog tour for The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band. My review is written with help from my nephew, Joe, who is 4, with thanks to Rachel Gilbey at Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me on the tour and to the author for our copy of the book.

Blurb:

Take a tiger, an orangutan, an elephant, an eagle, a rhino, a dragon, a spider, and a turtle. Mix with music till loud – you might want to stand back.

Review:

I read The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band with my nephew, Joe, who is 4. He loves learning about animals and having a dance to some music so this was the perfect book for him. We enjoyed looking at all the characters in the band and the story kept him engaged. The rhyming in the story helped him to be able to join in by finishing the end of each line.

We both loved the illustrations in The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band, which added some extra humour and brought the story to life. Joe liked the pictures of the whole band together.

Joe said “I liked the book. It was funny. My favourite character was the elephant.”

The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band is available from Amazon.
