Today I’m taking part in the blog tour for If I Were Invisible. My review is written with help from my nephew, Joe, who is 4, with thanks to Rachel Gilbey at Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me on the tour and to the author for our copy of the book.
Blurb:
Think of all the things we could get away with if nobody could see us! But how long would the fun last, if we had to do it all alone?
Review:
I read lf I Were Invisible with Joe, who is 4. I started by explaining to Joe what “invisible” means as he was a little unsure, but he gradually got used to the concept as we read more.
If I Were Invisible is written in rhyme, which means it’s easy for young children to follow, but also allows them to join in with the ends of the lines once they are familiar with the story.
The illustrator of If I Were Invisible is incredibly talented and Joe enjoyed studying the pictures for a while after we had finished reading. They really helped to increase his understanding.
Joe has chosen to read this book several times since we first read it for review, which shows how much he enjoyed it!
Joe said “I really enjoyed this book. I liked looking at the pictures. My favourite part was when they ate all the chocolate. If I were invisible, I would do that too!”
We can’t wait to see what the author does next!
