TA Williams: Far From Home

Today I’m joining the blog blitz for Far From Home. My review is written with thanks to Rachel Gilbey at Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me to join in and to the publisher for my copy of the book.

Blurb:

Working in the fast-paced foreign exchange market in Canary Wharf, Amy never expected her job to drive her to collapse. With her doctor advising she take a month off work, when Amy receives a solicitor’s letter informing her of a surprise inheritance in Italy, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

But who on earth has left her a house in the sleepy Tuscan hills?

As she gets to know the town and its inhabitants, Amy discovers more about the mysterious man who named her in his will. Shocking family secrets come to light, leaving Amy questioning the life she knew.

The town of Sant’Antonio holds more than just secrets. Here, Amy meets Adam, a renowned TV journalist whose documentaries take him to dangerous places. But as their attraction grows, so do Amy’s worries. Her life is in England, while Adam’s is untethered and under constant threat…

An emotional, heartwarming love story full of family drama and quirky locals. Perfect for fans of Rosanna Ley, Alex Brown and Lucinda Riley.

Review:

As much as I love TA Williams’ Dan and Oscar series, I also love his romance novels, and Far From Home is no exception. It’s so easy to read and I was effortlessly transported to the village of Sant’Antonio, with its beautiful landscapes and wonderful mix of people. TA Williams’ descriptions are amazing and it’s impossible not to fall in love with the place.

The protagonist of Far From Home is Amy. She’s a character I found it easy to empathise with. When she initially comes to Sant’Antonio she is dealing with a lot of emotions and I really enjoyed seeing her grow in confidence as the story developed. She’s surrounded by some great supporting characters, including Adam, Danny and Pierpaolo and I loved her burgeoning friendships with them, and of course, Max the Labrador.

Unlike some romance novels, there is a slight element of mystery in Far From Home and I was keen to see where this would lead and what it would mean for Amy.

I am looking forward to my next adventure in Italy with this author!
