This review is written with thanks to Mark David Woollard for inviting me to read and review The Undateable Gay Comes Again and for my copy of the book.

Review:

I absolutely loved The Undateable Gay so I’m delighted that Mark David Woollard has decided to continue Mark Morgan’s story. It was remarkably easy to slip back into his life and once again, I felt as if I was on the nights out and the holidays with Mark and his friends. Mark David Woollard’s writing is full of humour and I laughed out loud at nearly every page, almost choking on my own Savvy B on a few occasions!

Mark Morgan is also a late 90s/early 2000s child, so I loved the niche references to the bands and TV programmes of my childhood and teenage years, as they helped me to relate to the character even more.

As well as the moments of humour, The Undateable Gay Comes Again also addresses a number of more serious issues, particularly over the lockdown periods of 2020 and 2021. The author does a brilliant job of capturing how many people were feeling at that time, especially struggling with their mental health and I loved that this allowed us to see a different side of Mark.

I’d be an awful blogger if I gave away the ending, but I hope there is more to come from Mark Morgan. I definitely think there could be…please?
