Today I’m joining the blog tour for Crossing The Line. My review is written with thanks to Zoe O’Farrell for inviting me on the tour and to the author for my copy of the book.

Review:

I’ve never read anything by Chris Cloake before, but after reading Crossing The Line I will definitely be reading more! His writing is very intense, and from the beginning, I was drawn into Rebecca’s life in an incredibly visceral way. The descriptions of the surroundings in which Rebecca finds herself are very vivid and I could picture each scene almost like.a film in my head.

The central character of Crossing The Line is Rebecca, and I love how nuanced Chris Cloake has made her. She appears very intelligent and streetwise, but she has experienced a lot of trauma in her young life and is extremely vulnerable. There are some scenes which were difficult to read, but I felt these were necessary to highlight Rebecca’s situation. I really appreciated the opportunity to get to know her and I was rooting for her the whole way through the novel.

Crossing The Line is really well plotted and i found the whole story intriguing. It’s full of tension and I loved how this escalated towards the end of the novel. I did not necessarily expect the novel to end in the way it did, but I did find it satisfying.

Crossing The Line is available from Amazon.
