Welcome back to another #MusicMonday! It’s not about books, but about music, and I’m looking forward to presenting you with a taste of my playlist. It’s the brainchild of Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek, but my inspiration comes from the lovely Claire from A Knight’s Reads. Every Monday, I’ll be choosing a song to share with you. Two weeks ago, I went to see Travis in Halifax. It was a brilliant night, so today I am sharing one of my favourite Travis tracks, although they didn’t perform this one. It’s from their debut album, (which wasn’t The Man Who) which is a cracking album, but nobody knows about it.
Travis: Good Day To Die
Where is your mother?
Where is your father?
Two little children
Locked in the cupboard
Into the wide world
High on the highwire
What would you give to fly away
Away, away, away, away!
Girl with the flower
Boy with the hammer
Lost in a forest
On another planet
Find me the exit
Find them the way home
Find all the love they took away
Away, away, away, away!
‘Cause your head is a brick wall
And your heart is a football
And your eyes broken windows
When you cry
It’s a good day to die
Away
And your head is a brick wall!
And your heart is a football!
And your eyes broken windows!
When you cry it’s a good day!
‘Cause your head is a brick wall!
And your heart is a football!
And your eyes, it’s a good day!
To die!
To die!
To die!
To die!
To die!
To die!
