Today I’m back on the Chris Carter blogathon with my review of Gallery Of The Dead. My review is written with thanks to Tracy Fenton for inviting me on the blogathon.
Blurb:
‘Thirty-seven years in the force, and if I was allowed to choose just one thing to erase from my mind, what’s inside that room would be it.’
That’s what a LAPD Lieutenant tells Detectives Hunter and Garcia of the Ultra Violent Crimes Unit as they arrive at one of the most shocking crime scenes they have ever attended.
In a completely unexpected turn of events, the detectives find themselves joining forces with the FBI to track down a serial killer whose hunting ground sees no borders; a psychopath who loves what he does because to him murder is much more than just killing – it’s an art form.
Welcome to The Gallery of the Dead.
Review:
I can’t believe we are now on stop number nine of this blogathon, and this series just gets better with each instalment! I love Chris Carter’s creative and intelligent ideas and I am always fascinated by the way the investigation takes shape and comes together. As always, there are some gruesome scenes and graphic descriptions but I love the way these bring me right into the story and keep me completely engaged.
I always enjoy a story when we hear from the perspective of the killer, and this is something that works really well in Gallery Of The Dead. It was great to see a little into the Killer’s state of mind and what made them tick alongside the narrative of the investigation.
As the novel gathered pace, the tension is unbelievable. There are so many shocking moments that kept me wanting to read just one more chapter. The ending is set up for a brilliant plot in the next part of the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Gallery Of The Dead is available from Amazon.
