Today is the final stop on the Jack Jordan blogathon. My review of A Woman Scorned is written with thanks to Tracy Fenton for inviting me on the blogathon and to the publisher for my copy of the book.
Blurb:
Are you afraid? You should be.
The husband: in over his head with no way of knowing the truth.
The mistress: blinded by love, betrayed by her family…
The neighbour: will stop at nothing to protect the life he has fought to create.
The wife: a woman bent on revenge, but how far is she willing to go…?
Dark as night, this is a brilliantly plotted, gripping short story from the bestselling author Jack Jordan.
Review:
I’d read a few of Jack Jordan’s novels before now and I’m really glad I’ve had the opportunity to catch up with some of his earlier work. The earlier novels are very different to the more recent ones, but no less enjoyable. A Woman Scorned is quite a short story but it definitely packs a punch – it’s twisty, complex and compelling and I really wanted to discover how the story would play out.
Jack Jordan is brilliant at creating lively and interesting characters, and we definitely see this in A Woman Scorned. I didn’t like any of them – in fact, I felt sorry for Amber’s young daughter who was stuck in the middle of it all – but they did get under my skin and I was keen to see who, if anyone, would come out on top.
The plot of A Woman Scorned is complex, and I love how Jack Jordan takes all the different angles of the story and weaves them together. It did take me some time to figure it all out, but I loved the way it all came together.
I love a story with an open ending, and Jack Jordan has written an ending that will leave me thinking for a long time!
A Woman Scorned is available from Amazon.
