Today iI’m pleased to be taking part in the blog tour for Remember Me. My review is written with thanks to Zoe O’Farrell and the team at Spellbound Books for inviting me on the tour and for my copy of the book.

When Sergeant Michael Sanchez of the Costa Blanca Policia finally finishes a long night shift he didn’t expect to see a woman wandering the beach, soaked and disoriented. When she collapses in front of him from a head wound, he rushes her to hospital.

Helen Jones wakes up in hospital with the headache from hell and a hunky policeman watching her but absolutely no memory of who she is or why she’s been attacked. With only an ankle bracelet with the name Helen on, she has to find out what happened to her.

Review:

Remember Me is a really interesting mix of crime and romance which works well. I did prefer the crime element as it is one of those novels that allows you to imagine how you would feel in a certain situation and I think it’s fair to say that being found on the beach by a policeman with a head injury, unable to remember anything, even my name, is something I would find absolutely terrifying! Putting myself in Helen’s shoes helped me to relate to her a little more and I wanted to find out what had happened to her and who she was! 

There is a whole lot of unreliability in Remember Me and I loved it. Helen has no recollection of anything that happened before her accident so can we really trust what she says? What about Oliver – her fiance? Does he really love her and have the best intentions? The characters are really well developed and I enjoyed getting under the skin to work out if they should be trusted. 

As we reach the end of the novel, the tension goes up a notch and there is a sense of danger within the pages. I was holding my breath to discover how the situation would be resolved and I was on edge until the very end.
