Gillian McAllister: Wrong Place Wrong Time

Blurb:

It’s every parent’s nightmare.

Your happy, funny, innocent son commits a terrible crime: murdering a complete stranger.

You don’t know who.
You don’t know why.
You only know your teenage boy is in custody – and his future lost.

Somewhere in the past lie the answers, and you don’t have a choice but to find them . . .

Review:

When I first saw a video of Gillian McAllister explaining the concept of Wrong Place Wrong Time, I was absolutely fascinated and I knew I had to read it. I’ve finally got around to reading it and I have no idea what took me so long – it’s every bit as fascinating as I thought it would be. It really makes you think about how one small thing can change a much bigger thing and I was honestly transfixed the whole way through wondering how everything would work out.

Wrong Place Wrong Time starts on Day Zero in October 2022 and from there, the timeline travels backwards. The plotting and the use of the timeline is ridiculously clever and McAllister has considered many aspects of time travel that never even crossed my mind. I had wondered if such a complex concept would be difficult to understand, but the author describes everything in immaculate detail and always ensures the reader has time to catch up and follow exactly what is happening. Many of the chapters end on cliffhangers that really made my jaw drop and I loved the element of surprise.

I’ve read most of Gillian McAllister’s novels now and with every one, her writing gets better and better. She is particularly gifted at describing the emotions of her characters and the relationships between them in such a way that I was able to relate to the way they were feeling and their reactions in certain situations. This really helped as different aspects of the characters were revealed to us.

Gillian McAllister is an author I always look out for and I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Wrong Place Wrong Time is available from Amazon.
