Blurb:

Three women, five centuries, one spellbinding story

In 1619, Altha is on trial for witchcraft, implicated in the gruesome death of a local man.

In the present day, Kate flees a traumatic relationship to the Cumbrian cottage she inherited from her great-aunt; but the cottage hides secrets of its own.

In 1942, Violet rebels against her father’s ideas of a ‘proper young lady’ . . . until he takes matters into his own hands

Three women they tried to cage – but Weyward women belong to the wild. And they cannot be tamed…

Review:

I loved Weyward! It’s difficult to believe Emilia Hart is a debut author because her writing is so accomplished – her vocabulary and turn of phrase is wonderful. She drew me into the gothic world of Weyward very quickly and easily and I was captivated by her atmospheric writing the whole way through.

Weyward is the story of three women from the same ancestral line across three different timelines: Altha in 1619, Violet in the 1940s and Kate in 2019. The women in the Weyward family are known for their passion towards nature and their unusual beliefs and ideas, which do not fit with the expectations of society from a woman. I absolutely adored the way Emilia Hart explored this, making the themes relevant across the different time periods. Altha,.Violet and Kate are all wonderful characters and each of their stories fascinated me. I felt connected to them in a way that made me feel as if they were in the same room as I was reading, and I was compelled to find out what happened to them.

Emilia Hart has researched the historical, supernatural and gothic elements of Weyward in immense detail and I loved learning about witchcraft and the connection to nature and how it could manifest itself in different times.

Emilia Hart is definitely an author to look out for in future

Weyward is available from Amazon.
