Welcome back to #MusicMonday! It’s not about books, but about music, and I’m looking forward to presenting you with a taste of my playlist. It’s the brainchild of Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek, but my inspiration comes from the lovely Claire from A Knight’s Reads. Every Monday, I’ll be choosing a song to share with you. The Spotify playlist is here and it will be updated as I go along.
Yesterday, I went to see Elbow! As always, at the time of writing, I’ve not been yet, but I’m looking forward to it so much! I’ve chosen an Elbow track that I really like, and I don’t think it’s one you’d think of straight away when you think of Elbow.
Elbow: My Sad Captains
I’m running out of miracles
Oh my soul
And the streets alive with one-man shows
Oh my soul
The corner boys were moved along
Oh my soul
We’re plummeting like crippled crows
Oh my soul
Oh long before you and I were born
Others beat these benches with their empty cups
To the night and it’s stars
To be here and now and who we are
Another sunrise with my sad captains
With who I choose to lose my mind
And if it’s so we only pass this way but once
What a perfect waste of time
The BMX apothecary
Oh my soul
The architect of infamy
Oh my soul
For each and every train we missed
Oh my soul
A bitter little Eucharist
Oh my soul
Oh long before you and I were born
Others beat these benches with their empty cups
To the night and it’s stars
To be here and now and who we are
Another sunrise with my sad captains
With who I choose to lose my mind
And if it’s so we only pass this way but once
What a perfect waste of time
Another sunrise with my sad captains
With who I choose to lose my mind
And if it’s so we only pass this way but once
What a perfect waste of time
Another sunrise with my sad captains
With who I choose to lose my mind
And if it’s so we only pass this way but once
What a perfect waste of time
What a perfect waste of time

Until next time!
Hope you enjoyed the concert. It’s maybe predictable, but One Day Like This is one of my favourite songs ever!
