Welcome back to another #MusicMonday! It’s not about books, but about music, and I’m looking forward to presenting you with a taste of my playlist. It’s the brainchild of Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek, but my inspiration comes from the lovely Claire from A Knight’s Reads. Every Monday, I’ll be choosing a song to share with you. The Spotify playlist is here and it will be updated as I go along.
#MusicMonday is a bit different today as I want to pay tribute to the 56 supporters who lost their lives in the Valley Parade fire on this day in 1985, as well as those who were injured or affected by what happened that day. I’ve used the video from the Gerry and The Pacemakers version here, but it was covered by The Crowd in 1985 to raise funds after the fire, and I’ve added that version to the playlist.
I’m sending love to anyone who needs it today.
Gerry And The Pacemakers: You’ll Never Walk Alone
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
For your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
