#MusicMonday #122 – She’ll make you breakfast

Welcome back to another #MusicMonday! It’s not about books, but about music, and I’m looking forward to presenting you with a taste of my playlist. It’s the brainchild of Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek, but my inspiration comes from the lovely Claire from A Knight’s Reads. Every Monday, I’ll be choosing a song to share with you. The Spotify playlist is here and it will be updated as I go along.

On Thursday, I saw The Flaming Lips in Halifax. It was a surreal experience, perhaps made more so by the rum that was consumed, but overall it was an enjoyable gig. Today I’m sharing a song with which I wasn’t familiar prior to the gig, but which was one of my favourites.

The Flaming Lips:. She Don’t Use Jelly

I know a girl who thinks of ghosts,
She’ll make you breakfast, she’ll make you toast.
But she don’t use butter.
And she don’t use cheese.
She don’t use jelly, or any of these.
She uses Vaseline

I know a guy who goes to shows,
When he’s at home an’ he blows his nose,
He don’t use tissues,
Or his sleeves,
He don’t use napkins, or any of these.
He uses Magazines

I know a girl who reminds me of Cher,
She’s always changin’ the color of her hair,
But she don’t use nothin’, That you buy at the store,
She likes her hair to, be real orange
She uses Tangerines
