Review:

I love the premise of this book, so I was so excited to have the opportunity to read it, and it did not disappoint at all. The reader has no time to settle in as The Death Row Club starts with a bang that hooked me in and never let me go. 

The Death Row Club is narrated mostly by Nicola and Steffani. I liked these characters, and found their back stories, that VA Vasquez has developed in a lot of detail, very intriguing. This is especially true of Steffani, as it’s not clear straight away how she is connected to the rest of the group. Both Nicola and Steffani have potential issues with addiction and trauma, so although I liked the characters, I always bore in mind the possibility that their version of events may not be a true reflection of what happened, and this helped to maintain my interest in the story. 

Around half way, The Death Row Club really gathers pace and the author poses even more questions for the reader at this point. I loved how the tension really increased and I was kept on the edge of my my seat until the ending. There are a few interesting revelations towards the end, and I will be thinking about the members of the death row club for a while yet.
