Today I’m delighted to be joining the blog tour for Dead Wrong. My review is written with thanks to Sarah Hardy at Book On The Bright Side for inviting me on the tour and for my copy of the book via Netgalley.
The serial killer is behind bars. But the murders are just beginning…
DC Maggie Jamieson’s past comes back to haunt her in this dark and gripping serial killer thriller.
Three missing women running out of time…
They were abducted years ago. Notorious serial killer Bill Raven admitted to killing them and was sentenced to life.
The case was closed – at least DC Maggie Jamieson thought it was…
But now one of them has been found, dismembered and dumped in a bin bag in town.
Forensics reveal that she died just two days ago, when Raven was behind bars, so Maggie has a second killer to find.
Because even if the other missing women are still alive, one thing’s for certain: they don’t have long left to live…
Dead Wrong is the second book in the DC Maggie Jamieson series and I was so eager to read it after loving Noelle Holten’s debut Dead Inside. I was in no way disappointed! This book focuses much more on Maggie and I really enjoyed getting to know her. She’s determined and feisty, often to the point of being stubborn, so I could definitely relate to her. I loved her relationship with Doctor Kate Moloney which provided a few moments of humour alongside the murders.
Holten has a wonderful knowledge of the justice system and the way different agencies work with each other and this makes for a very believable storyline. I appreciated the nods to characters from Dead Inside to highlight this.
At first, Maggie and her team have very limited leads so the investigation moves quite slowly. In spite of this, Holten’s writing style is very fast paced and I couldn’t get enough of it; I was desperate to know what happened next. As the novel continues, the investigation suddenly bursts into life, revealing twist after twist that kept me glued to the pages!
Dead Wrong ends on a HUMONGOUS cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Dead Wrong is available from Amazon.
