#MusicMonday #110 – I just say nothing and stare at the broken glass

Welcome back to another #MusicMonday! It’s not about books, but about music, and I’m looking forward to presenting you with a taste of my playlist. It’s the brainchild of Drew from The Tattooed Book Geek, but my inspiration comes from the lovely Claire from A Knight’s Reads. Every Monday, I’ll be choosing a song to share with you. The Spotify playlist is here and it will be updated as I go along.

A while ago,. Claire featured this song on her own #MusicMonday and I loved it! The artist appeared on my Spotify algorithm a few days ago and it has become a bit of an ear worm, so I thought I should share it myself.

Nieve Ella: The Things We Say

How would I know
If all of this was the same
And I hadn’t grown
Into someone that you would change
Now we’re standing in the driveway
All the flowers and the neighbours watching
I thought calling you a liar was the easiest way to end it
Now I can’t take it back
I keep praying Jesus Christ
What a mess we keep making
But I can’t see the scratch
Threw my suitcase in the back
Jesus Christ, the things we say
I would never hurt a friend that way
I wish you would slow down
You’re driving way too fast
But I just say nothing
And stare at the broken glass
Now we’re standing in the driveway
All the flowers and the neighbours watching
I thought calling you a liar was the easiest way to end it
Now I can’t take it back
I keep praying Jesus Christ
What a mess we keep making
But I can’t see the scratch
Threw my suitcase in the back
Jesus Christ, the things we say
I would never hurt a friend that way
Now I can’t take it back
I keep praying Jesus Christ
What a mess we keep making
But I can’t see the scratch
Threw my suitcase in the back
Jesus Christ, the things we say
I would never hurt a friend that way
Jesus Christ, the things we say
I would never hurt a friend that way
